EZQuest Announces Cinema Pro Rack-Mountable RAID

SAN FRANCISCO - EZQuest announced Monday the Cinema Pro rack-mountable RAID solution, a RAID solution that can hold up to 16 hard drives with up to 24 TB of storage. The device is hot swappable, and conforms to the 3U rack mount form factor. It connects via an external PCIe bus.
O’Reilly Highlights Photoshop Authors for Macworld Expo

SAN FRANCISCO -- O'Reilly Media and Book Passage started off their Macworld Expo activities a day ahead of the conference's official opening day with a special panel and book signing filled with Photoshop CS4 experts. The panel included Photoshop luminaries Lesa Snider King, Deke McClelland, Derrick Story, and Lightroom pro Mikkel Aaland.
Parallels Desktop 4.0 Build 3810 Released

Elgato Introduces New EyeTV Hybrid Adapter

Long-time Mac accessory maker Elgato announced the next generation of its EyeTV Hybrid television and FM adapter for the Mac on Momnday. The adapter, which is immediately available in the United States and Canada, receives both analog and digital TV, including HDTV, by cable and antenna signals and can record said media for later playback.
AAPL Up 5% Following Steve Jobs Health Revelation

Shares in Apple Inc. rose more than more than 5% on Monday following revelations from Apple Steve CEO Steve Jobs that he was on a treatment for a hormonal imbalance that had caused him to lose weight, and that he would begin regaining that lost weight starting in the Spring of 2009.

Safari Inches Towards an 8 Percent Market Share in Dec

Apple's Safari Web browser worked its way up to a 7.93 percent market share in December, reaching its highest level to date. Firefox also hit a new high with 21.34 percent of the market, while Microsoft's Internet Explorer continued its downward spiral with a drop to 68.15 percent of the browser market.

IDG to Hold Town Hall Event at Macworld Expo

Goldman: Jobs Health Rumors are Wrong

Following rumors that Apple CEO Steve Jobs handed over his traditional Macworld Expo & Conference keynote to Phil Schiller because his health is failing, CNBC's Jim Goldman claimed that the information is flat-out wrong, and that the reasoning behind Apple's pull-out is exactly what the company claims it to be.

The rumor mill is working overtime leading up to Macworld Expo, and the latest tidbit seems to indicate that Apple may have misrepresented its reasons for handing over keynote presentation duties to Phil Schiller, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing. According to Gizmodo, Mr. Jobs is suffering from rapidly declining health, and the company is trying to control when that information is publicly released.
Two Bay Area Apple Stores Robbed in Smash & Grab

Two Apple Store retail locations were robbed in the middle of the night over the weekend, with two smashing the windows in the front of the stores and running off with stolen Mac laptops and iPods. The thieves hit the Palo Alto Apple Store 4:11 AM on Sunday morning, and then one hour later the Los Gatos Apple Store was hit by what may have been the same two men.
Sci-Fi Strategy Shooter EV Nova Updated as Universal Binary

Ambrosia Software on Tuesday updated its science-fiction strategy shooter Escape Velocity (EV) Nova as a Universal Binary capable of running natively on Intel and PowerPC Macs. Version 1.1.0 also includes bug fixes and feature improvements.
